Licence and Acceptable Use explains how 247ChatMate may be used, what is not permitted, and the responsibilities that apply when using the product on websites or client sites.

Licence basis

247ChatMate is licensed, not sold. A download, subscription, agency setup, client setup or written agreement gives you permission to use the product only within the limits of the relevant plan, licence or agreement.

You do not receive ownership of the software, source code, product assets, brand assets, update systems, setup materials or related intellectual property.

Authorised use

Subject to your plan and these rules, you may install and use 247ChatMate on authorised websites or approved client sites. You may configure visitor buttons, setup options, enquiry routing, email notifications and supported dashboard or reporting features made available to you.

Agencies may only use 247ChatMate for client sites covered by their approved agency arrangement, licence or written agreement.

Acceptable use

You must use 247ChatMate responsibly and lawfully. You are responsible for your own website, business communications, customer relationships, compliance obligations and the way the product is configured on your site.

  • Use the product only on websites covered by your licence, subscription, setup or written agreement.
  • Keep your contact details, business details and lead routing details accurate.
  • Use the product in a way that is lawful, honest and not misleading.
  • Maintain appropriate website access, backups, security and administrator controls.
  • Comply with applicable privacy, cookie, marketing, consumer and business communication laws.

Prohibited use

You must not misuse 247ChatMate, its website, setup materials, update systems, brand assets or related services.

  • Use the product for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, deceptive, harmful or misleading activity.
  • Use the product to send spam, nuisance messages, unauthorised marketing or deceptive communications.
  • Copy, resell, sublicense, redistribute, repackage or white-label the product unless expressly allowed in writing.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, clone, decompile, reproduce or attempt to extract the product, setup assets or protected systems.
  • Remove, bypass, attack or interfere with licence checks, update systems, registry systems, access controls or security controls.
  • Use the product on websites, domains or client sites not covered by your plan, licence or written agreement.
  • Upload malicious files, attempt unauthorised access, overload endpoints or interfere with the operation of 247ChatMate or related services.

Third-party services and messaging platforms

247ChatMate may interact with or route enquiries towards third-party services such as WordPress, hosting providers, browsers, email providers, WhatsApp, payment providers and other tools used by website owners or agencies.

You are responsible for complying with the rules, terms and requirements of any third-party services you use. This includes WhatsApp/Meta rules, customer consent, messaging laws and your own business communication obligations.

Intellectual property

247ChatMate, including its product name, interface design, setup materials, written content, workflows, software structure, brand assets and supporting materials, remains protected intellectual property.

You must not claim ownership of 247ChatMate, present it as your own product, remove attribution where it is required, or use our brand in a way that suggests an unauthorised partnership, endorsement or resale arrangement.

Fair usage and operational limits

247ChatMate is intended for normal business website enquiry capture and customer communication workflows. We may apply reasonable limits or controls where usage creates technical strain, abuse risk, support burden, security risk or unfair use of shared infrastructure.

Where possible, we will aim to deal with fair-usage concerns in a reasonable and proportionate way.

Suspension or termination

We may suspend, restrict or terminate access if we reasonably believe 247ChatMate is being misused, copied, redistributed, used without a valid licence, used unlawfully, used outside an approved plan, or used in a way that may harm customers, third-party services, the product, the website or the wider platform.

Security and responsible reporting

You must not attempt to test, scan, attack, bypass or interfere with 247ChatMate systems without written permission. If you believe you have found a security issue, please report it responsibly through our Contact & Support page.
